It was so great talking to the students in the growing graphic design department at Pace University in downtown Manhattan. I'm so grateful to Brenda McManus for inviting me to share my work and process. I especially loved guest critiquing their awesome type and lettering assignments.
To mark the occasion, I designed a title slide inspired by vintage cigar labels. Since my talk was focused on how I pilfer the design of the past and my experience with working for an unparalleled master of historical typography, an showy Victorian piece with inlines, outlines, drop shadows, and patterns seemed appropriate.
If you're interested in having me speak at your event, school, or company (or if you just want to chat about my obsession with historical design and experience working for Louise Fili), I'd love to hear from you! Get in touch by using the contact form on my about/contact page.
