Deus Ex Machina
Role: Design, Lettering
By using the visual language and pragmatic restrictions of circuit-boards, this gold, silkscreened poster examines the deity within technology. The sentence, originally from Greco-Roman theater and literally translating to "God in (or 'from the') machine" refers to the theatrical custom of using a machine to lower the actor playing a god onto the stage. Before long, our attention moves to the man-made machine that gives the gods their power.
