NYBR 125th Anniversary

I was contacted to create the cover for the 125th edition of the New York Book Review based on Art Director Matt Dorfman’s concept of showing the Review’s long history through contrasting type styles. Beyond creating an ornamental cartouche for the type that bled organically into the lower part of the layout, the challenge was also designing a Fraktur 125 that felt connected to the publication’s original masthead.
